The UK's strategy to deliver Net Zero is driving a transformation in the energy sectors, responsible for 24% of UK GHG emissions. We are recruiting a fixed‑term senior energy advisor, up to 2 years, for someone with experience of working in or regulating energy sectors such as combustion plants, waste incineration and refineries.
Responsibilities
* provide expert support and technical leadership through advice, guidance and training
* develop strategy and produce tools to regulate, support development and deliver environmental outcomes in the energy sectors
* commission and manage external research projects where needed
* work with internal and external stakeholders such as Defra, DESNZ, internal operations teams, trade associations and other key industry players
* respond to incidents and provide business continuity support during an incident
Qualifications
* ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures and actively encourage others to consider diversity issues in their work
* relevant technical and regulatory knowledge and experience of the work area for the role, including control measures for emissions to air where relevant
* ability to build and maintain good relationships with colleagues, operators, partner regulators, government, trade bodies and academia
* work cooperatively as part of a team to achieve common goals

Additional Information
