The Opportunity The Peterborough Health & Safety Team is responsible for driving and delivering the site's Health & Safety strategy, ensuring full compliance with ISO 45001 and supporting our ISO 14001 environmental certification. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager and working closely with cross-functional site teams, this role focuses on supporting health and safety initiatives across the manufacturing facility. As an individual contributor, the Health & Safety Senior Associate will lead and support projects that promote regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role offering excellent exposure to core Health & Safety programmes, processes, and technical disciplines within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, an ideal opportunity for a proactive professional looking to make a tangible impact on site safety performance. What You Will Do Perform assignments or specific tasks focused on maintaining compliance and provide support to the department Perform inspections and tests planned to monitor specific Health & Safety issues, regulations and company practices Assist more experienced professionals in developing solutions Collect and evaluate data and develop plans for assignments in agreement with H&S Manager Build relationships with other team members, suppliers and contractors Making and maintaining necessary records according to established guidelines Assists in training employees on H&S guidelines, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to H&S Contributes to the development of H&S policies and procedures What You Will Demonstrate: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards. Level Working Knowledge: Prepares for emergency situations according to EHS policy. Replaces hazardous materials with environmentally friendly ones where appropriate. Conducts risk assessments to identify hazards in the business, work areas and work processes. NEBOSH level 3 General Certificate or equivalent Completes incident report forms after detecting risks or hazards in the workplace. Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes. Level Working Knowledge: Ability to collect, evaluate data and develop action plans Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. Top Candidates will have: NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) or equivalent qualification Proven experience within a large-scale manufacturing environment Demonstrable experience in Fire Risk Management Knowledge of Noise Management, including conducting noise assessments Lead Auditor training to ISO 45001, with demonstrated familiarity with ISO 14001 Additional Notes This role is based at the Peterborough facility 5 days a week.
