JOB SUMMARY:
The Commercial Product Manager (CPM) is principally responsible for the following areas:
Overseeing the Qnostics Molecular Product Portfolio & project managing the Qnostics molecular product lifecycle, post transfer from R&D
Support the Molecular Product Manager (MPM) with the general customer enquiries and triaging technical enquiries.
Take responsibility for the distribution partners and customer communication, documentation and sales order requests.
Manage the customer forecast to ensure Qnostics products are provided to customers on time and in full, as per the agree delivery schedule.
Also, manage the Qnostics product components and assembled products, ensuring that customer demand is met.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Molecular Product Portfolio Management
Facilitating the business / commercial assessment of Product Development Opportunities.
Ensuring the business / commercial parameters are included within the product design requirements in line with business strategy / market needs.
Evaluating / reviewing pricing & positioning of products / SWOT analysis in markets relative to customers / distribution partners
Liaising with customers / distribution partners to support product SWOT analysis / competitor activity.
Analyse the customers' current and future product offerings to identify key areas of cooperation, this may include analysis of product and corporate literature as well as independent market research.
Work with the R&D Manager to ensure there is a new product pipelines in line with agreed business priorities / timelines.
Monitoring progress against agreed plan & highlighting any potential risks to SMT and where agreed with customers.
Coordinating product / project timelines with Operations planning / project management & R&D teams
Interfacing / communicating with SMT / Dept heads (R&D, Operations / Manufacturing, quality / regulatory, etc).
Overseeing the reporting / communication on status of new product milestones / deliverables against timelines at NPD and SMT meetings
Product Launch / Post Launch support
Providing 'up to date' product forecasting / estimated stock on hand requirements
Facilitating & coordinating product launch activities (preparation of marketing literature / product promotion packs etc)
Supporting quality / regulatory post-market surveillance requirements / reporting. Maintain and improve the tools used to manage Qnostics product components and assembled product.
Generating and managing the Qnostics Stock on Hand requests (SOH). Working with the planning department to ensure that stock will be available as per the agreed timelines with customers/distributers.
Carry out regular reviews of current stocks, ensuring that expired batches are being reviewed for requalification/disposal.
Support the MPM & Principle Scientist to ensure the released products technical files and associated documentation is in place, compliant and having regular reviews.
Technical Support, Troubleshooting, and training
Technical Enquiries / Complaints, & troubleshooting
· Supporting the MPM logging technical enquiries and recording them in an appropriate & timely manner.
· Facilitate the technical troubleshooting & investigation into technical enquiries / complaints across company departments (i.e. R&D, Operations, etc) as appropriate, escalating enquiries to the appropriate team(s) or Senior management.
· Where appropriate, ensure that any relevant customer / business partner feedback is incorporated into the business / commercial assessment process and supports future improvements to the company's product & service offerings etc.
Product Support Activities
Coordinate the preparation of commercial support training materials (i.e. FAQs, presentations, case-studies) and ensure these remain relevant and up to date (maintain database of relevant enquiries / FAQs).
Mentor and coach other Qnostics staff members (i.e. R&D scientists etc) so that they can support the external training of Qnostics Business partner representatives (i.e. Sales / business Development / Technical support) in the Qnostics product portfolio.
Business Development (Technical Support)
Business Development conference calls / meetings
Represent the company at conferences, joint workdays, training seminars, through oral and poster presentations promoting Qnostics products & services and, where appropriate, those of its business partners.
· Where necessary, support the business development / commercial representatives of the company and its partners through the attendance of conference calls / meetings with the potential business clients.
· Work with the MPM to prepare any relevant background commercial information / report to support the customer meeting bearing in mind the potential commercial nature of the meeting.
· Always ensure there is a clear remit / agenda ahead of any potential business call and that there is sufficient time to prepare the required background product information to support the call.
Qnostics Management Reporting
· Chair / lead the weekly NPD meetings.
· Provide feedback using verbal and written reporting tools to the business on customers, competitor activity, promotions etc.
· NPD opportunity assessments
Management Reporting (monthly)
· Update on any potential business / NPD opportunities
· Status of product pipeline i.e. reporting metrics against timelines (milestones, deliverables, etc)
· Upcoming conferences / business meetings / feedback etc
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
Essential Experience:
· BSc in a Molecular Biology or related field, ideally with a primary focus on infectious disease.
· Understanding of the molecular diagnostics market and offerings
Sales and business development / management experience
Technical and lab experience in relevant subject.
Self- starter with excellent collaboration skills
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
Must possess the organisational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed
Outstanding listening and questioning skills
Customer focused and able to put themselves into the shoes of the customer and build rapport

Must have an eye / attention for detail and be able to quickly pick up and run with systems, processes, product knowledge etc – but also have an ability to see the bigger picture requirements
Ability to identify opportunities to build and further develop technical business relationships
Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office and its various tools
A continuous improvement focus, with a drive to develop and improve the tools.
Preferred Experience
MSc/PhD in a Molecular Biology or related field
Formal Project Management qualification (e.g. Prince II)
5-10 years working in the infectious disease field
Salary:
From £30,000 dependent on experience
