This is a wonderful opportunity to join our client's dedicated Mental Health Team based in Walsall. This is an entry-level role suitable for someone with good typing skills and an interest in working in a legal environment. You will join an existing team of Secretarial Assistants supporting Lawyers who specialise in Court of Protection and Mental Health work, representing individuals under the Mental Health Act 1983, Guardianship Orders, Community Treatment Orders, and advising clients with learning difficulties and autism. Our client is seeking a candidate with a genuine interest in this area of law, demonstrated through their application and CV.
You should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities within a team of Lawyers specialising in Court of Protection and Mental Health Law, with a track record of providing legal aid services.
Your role includes:
1. Supporting solicitors and the team with general administration
2. Typing notes from files and phone calls
3. Logging information on a secure portal
4. Downloading notifications from the tribunal service
5. Managing tribunal dates and recording them in diaries
6. Time recording to support billing processes
7. Typing documents and letters to clients and hospitals
8. Handling telephone queries
