Your new role
A vacancy has arisen in Upper Key Stage 2 due to the current Year 6 teacher moving on to a promotion. The school is seeking a caring and dedicated practitioner for the summer term, who can provide stability and continuity at a time when pupils—who are extremely fond of their current teacher—will benefit from strong, positive relationships.Depending on your strengths and experience, you will teach Year 6 or Year 5.In this role, you will:
1. Teach a class of 30 pupils in Y5 or Y6.
2. Plan and deliver engaging, well structured lessons as part of the year group team.
3. Receive one full PPA day every fortnight, which may bepleted from home.
4. Work with TA support throughout the school day.
5. Build relationships that support pupils through a period of change.
6. Attend weekly staff meetings.
7. Contribute to partiallypleted end of year reports.
8. Take part in optional parent meetings following the distribution of reports.
9. No residentialmitments – this will be taking place in the spring 2 half term.
What you'll need to succeed
The school is looking for someone who is:
10. A qualified primary teacher (ECTs and experienced teachers wee).
11. Warm, relational andmitted to pastoral care.
12. Skilled at building rapport and supporting pupils sensitively through transition.
13. Confident in delivering the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
14. Organised, reflective and a collaborative team player.
