1. You will support the Equine Department in providing an outstanding and safe experience for students, commercial users and ensure a high standard of horse welfare.
2. The role supports the Equine Team in the day to day running of the Equine Unit, assisting with the supervision of students whilst undertaking practical tasks and supervising student liveries.
3. You will also be part of our team hosting and assisting with the running of International Equine Events and commercial bookings throughout the year.
4. You will stay in shared accommodation comprising of a single occupancy double bedroom within a shared farmhouse situated on-site. Facilities include a large communal living room, kitchen and garden with parking. A pre-paid meal card is provided for use at food outlets around the campus
About You
5. You will be team player who has high standards of horse care and the enthusiasm and drive to motivate students and maintain our professional standards.
6. You will be provided with the opportunity to work towards improving and developing your riding ability within two staff development lessons per week.
7. Ideally, you will hold a BHS Stage 3 or equivalent qualification.
8. It would be beneficial to have experience in a large equine yard setting.
9. The successful candidate will be required to achieve the relevant British Horse Society (BHS) qualification within the first two years of employment. For those who do not already hold a BHS qualification, this will be the British Horse Society, Stage 1 qualification.
