An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clerical officer to join the team at Ruthin Hospital. The purpose of this post is to provide an efficient and comprehensive administrative and reception service to Ruthin Hospital. The post holder will be the first point of contact for telephone communication. They will work within the Ruthin Hospital administrative team alongside the Site Administrator to provide a seamless administrative service to the Community Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the role is to:
* Offer general assistance to service providers and users, projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors, either in person or via telephone.
* Receive, assist, and direct patients to access appropriate services or healthcare professionals in a courteous, efficient, and effective manner.
* Undertake various administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the General Office, including clerical support to clinical staff and team members.
* Facilitate effective communication between patients, staff, secondary care providers, and other healthcare and wellbeing agencies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Demonstrate English and Maths skills to GCSE level or equivalent experience.
* IT or word processing qualification (e.g., RSA 2 or equivalent).
* ECDL qualification.
* NVQ Level 1 or equivalent in customer service.
Experience
* Experience using computer systems (e.g., GP clinical IT system).
* Previous reception/office environment experience.
* Experience working with the general public.
Skills
* Ability to work in a busy environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Effective communication skills, including tactful interaction with patients.
* Ability to resolve issues promptly using personal judgment.
Knowledge
* Understanding of confidentiality requirements related to the post.
Personal Qualities
