Coventry Residential Children’s Services currently have several well-established children's homes within the city. Our family style homes offer individualised care for children aged 10 to 18 years, who have a diverse range of needs and may have been impacted by childhood trauma. What is the job role? Are you a resilient and experienced manager who can lead a team of staff to provide high-quality residential care for children in need? Do you have a good working knowledge of legislation, Regulations and best practices in the field of children's services? Do you want to join a dynamic and expanding service that supports vulnerable children and their families in Coventry? If you answered yes to these questions, then you might be the ideal candidate for being the Manager of our Same Day / Short Stay service. As a manager, you will: Support your staff team with training, supervision, and professional development Recruit and select new employees and assess their performance Understand the needs of children which may involve different complexities and children with disabilities Ensure that the voice of the child is heard and respected in the service delivery Adhere to and implement the relevant policies, procedures, and legislation Participate in the development and improvement of the service Undertake relevant training and qualifications as required All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Who are we looking for? The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the Operational Leads and Responsible Individuals to build an effective team and achieve successful outcomes for children living within the home. You will need the ability to use your own initiative with an expectation that you drive forward improvements whilst meeting the requirements of the Children Homes Regulations 2015 and best practice standards identified within the SCCIF. You will have a solid understanding of and be an advocate for the principles of diversity and inclusion in relation to workplace culture and service delivery.
