Job Summary

Main duties of the job
* You would be joining a team that you would be supporting in delivery of group psychological interventions, being part of the full pathway from triage to assessment and treatment.
* Using goal based outcomes to support a patient-centered approach in their recovery journey.
* Working with the team to share development ideas and consider new initiatives that may bring positive improvements to the service.
* Working with a mixed caseload and receiving training that supports career development, professional skills, competencies and interests.
* Being actively mobile to help access clients who may not be able to attend the base.
* Ensuring all records are updated daily to ensure safe, effective practice.
* Support junior staff with supervision and training, and support students in their development on placement.
* Engage in reflective practice and supervision at management and clinical levels.
* Be part of the physical health screening offering basic physical health monitoring of clients on antipsychotic medication.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
* Triage and assessment of new referrals into the service
* Assessment of risk and safety planning
* Care planning using patient-centered approach with Goal Based Outcomes
* Deliver safe and effective care in the community as an individual and as part of a team
* Collaborate with partner agencies within the local community
* Deliver therapeutic interventions one-to-one and in group work
* Be actively mobile to access clients who may not attend the base
* Maintain up-to-date records for safe, effective practice
* Provide supervision and training support to junior staff
* Support students in development on placement
* Engage in reflective practice and supervision at management and clinical levels

Person Specification
Experience Essential
* Extensive post-registration experience in mental health care, with experience across inpatient and community settings, or substantial experience in both settings within a mental health and/or learning disabilities setting.
* Experience managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of mental health conditions within a community setting without supervision.
* Experience clinically supervising junior and unqualified staff and mentoring students.
Qualifications Essential
* A professional mental health qualification (e.g., RMN, Social Work Degree or equivalent) and registration with the appropriate professional body, current without restrictions.
* Evidence of continuing professional development and mentoring students in line with professional requirements.
* Recognition in relevant qualification in pharmacy or nursing (if applicable).
Desirable
* Postgraduate qualification relevant to the specialty
* Clinical supervision qualification
* Training to level 3 in safeguarding children and young people
* Evidence of leadership/management training within a core service
Knowledge
* Understanding of the NSF and Mental Health Act / Mental Health Capacity Act requirements (essential).
* CPA Process (essential).
