Swansea Bay University Health Board currently has a Band 5 vacancy for an Occupational Therapist in the paediatric service.
We are committed to training and education, including preceptorship, post-graduate study, and leadership programmes, ensuring the future of Occupational Therapy within the Health Board is strong and exciting.
You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including a 7-day shift pattern and extended working hours covering 365 days of the year.
Due to the large geographical area covered by the health board, it is expected that you will be able to travel across sites to clients' homes and community settings promptly when required.
Main duties of the job
1. Manage a defined caseload, using evidence-based and client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions across hospital, community, patients' homes, schools, outpatient settings, and maintaining records. Organise this efficiently considering clinical priorities and time management.
2. Ensure clinical records are maintained to standards and report accurately to others.
3. Work collaboratively with clients, carers, and all stakeholders, including multidisciplinary/multi-agency teams, to identify relevant goals.
4. Develop skills and knowledge through participation in the Preceptorship Programme and the Band 5 development and competency framework.
5. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications from English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome.

Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent OT qualification)
* Professional Registration with HCPC
* Membership of the professional body BAOT
Skills
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
* Ability to travel across sites to clients' homes and community settings as required
* Planning, time management, and organisational skills
Experience and Knowledge
* Knowledge of current best practice in OT
* Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice

Salary: £30,420 to £37,030 per annum, pro rata.
