We are working exclusively with a modern, well‑equipped practice in Reading that is looking for a Clinical Director to lead both clinically and culturally. This independent group genuinely cares about pets and clients and wants someone to raise standards, bring structure, and inspire the team.
The Role
4‑day week (30‑40 hours, flexible) with 1 weekend (Saturday AM) and no out‑of‑hours coverage. This is a hands‑on leadership position that includes:
* Managing a 4‑day week schedule
* Leading a team of 4 vets, 5 nurses, 1 veterinary clinical assistant, and ~4,000 active clients
* Overseeing surgical caseload growth (currently ~5 surgeries/day with room to increase)
* Facilitating 15‑minute consults (~20 consults per vet per day)
* Shaping clinical standards, team development, and client experience

* Strong clinical standards
* Able to mentor, guide, and bring people together
* Confident, respected, warm, human and approachable
* Ideally with a surgical bias (beyond routine neuters) but not solely surgeon‑mindset; medicine matters here
Salary & Bonus
* £75,000‑£80,000 DOE (ceiling £80k)
* Bonus up to 20% of salary
