Job Description

Are you an experienced, innovative Occupational Therapist ready to take the next step into a clinical leadership role? If your answer is yes, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Social Care Lewes and North Wealden Team.

As an Adult Social Care Occupational Therapist, you can make a real difference to a person’s life, visiting people in their homes, providing specialist assessment and meeting eligible needs through equipment provision and reablement.

The role will include assessing and supervising staff to assess Adults in line with the Care Act. As an Occupational Therapist, you will have a pivotal role in the well‑being agenda and inform the interventions needed to meet clients’ and carers’ assessed eligible needs. You will manage and reduce risks, allowing clients to remain as safe as possible in their own homes, using a reablement approach.

If you are energetic, self‑motivated, and committed to working across agencies, as well as strengthening partnerships, particularly with health, and are passionate about developing your career, then we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for candidates who:

* Are a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the professional regulatory body
* You will need to have experience of supervising staff to assist/oversee work within the team, including safeguarding work
* Can adapt to new situations whilst also working well as part of a team

In return we will offer you a comprehensive induction programme, regular supervision and training and development opportunities together with hybrid / agile working. More information can be found on our benefits page. East Sussex County Council also offer extensive training and career development.

Interviews will take place face to face or via Microsoft Teams. Interviews will be taking place the week beginning 16 February 2026.
