A secondary school in Peterborough is seeking a talented and committed Art Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive school environment that values creativity and visual expression as part of a broad and balanced curriculum.
The Role
You will teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential), delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ technical skills, creativity, and critical understanding of art and design.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality Art lessons in line with the national curriculum
Encourage creativity, experimentation, and independent thinking
Prepare students for coursework and examinations
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
Maintain a safe and organised classroom and studio environment
Contribute to displays, exhibitions, and enrichment activities
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) — essential
Specialism in Art or Art & Design
Experience teaching in a UK secondary school
Strong classroom management skills
A passion for inspiring young people through the visual arts
