We are currently hiring on behalf of a client for a Before and After School Club Manager in the Orpington area. This is an exciting and fun opportunity for someone with relevant experience looking for their next role.
The manager will be responsible for the management of all the staff in the setting and the welfare of the children attending the club, both before and after school.
Qualifications & Requirements:
1. NVQ level 3 in Child Care/Playworker or equivalent (Desirable)
2. Can be working towards the qualification whilst in role (Essential)
3. Excellent communication skills (Essential)
4. Recent experience of working with children age 4-11 (Essential)
5. Good organisational skills (Essential)
6. Good knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities and special educational needs (Essential)
7. Relevant supervisory/management experience (Essential)
8. First Aid qualification (Essential)
9. Food Hygiene Qualification (Desirable)
10. Experience of administration systems (Desirable)
11. Competent in using computer systems including email and Microsoft Word and Publisher (Essential)

Duties & Responsibilities:
Delivering Before & After School Provision:
13. To lead the day to day management and organisation of Beyond.
14. To provide line management to a team of play workers and supervisors directing the work of staff based at Beyond. To supervise their activities and inducting new staff members.
15. To oversee, lead and motivate a team of staff to deliver high quality creative play opportunities in a safe and caring environment
16. Liaise with the school/Senco with regard to the needs of the children who attend the club
17. To be the contact between the parents and Beyond both directly and via emails
18. Report any Safeguard concerns promptly and ensure staff are aware who the Safeguard Lead is on duty during both term and holiday time and how to contact them.
Management & Administration:
19. Print the registers for the before and after school club, and maintain the online booking system
20. Organising staff cover during both term time and holiday cover
21. Ordering of necessary resources and food
22. Uphold, implement and regularly review all policies and procedures of the group in partnership with the staff team and the school.
23. Maintain all records relating to the management of the group ensuring confidentiality and data protection of the children, their families and members of staff.
24. Manage the online payment system (Schoolcomms), ensure that parents are not in arrears
25. Manage the adjustments to day to day bookings ensuring that parents are charged correctly.
26. To be responsible for the day to day administration and record keeping that includes maintaining records of attendance and providing information returns and other appropriate records as required and maintaining records of staff attendances, checking and authorising any overtime claims.
27. To effectively manage the occupancy levels of Beyond and waiting lists.
28. Monitor and evaluate the quality of the service.
29. Maintaining working relationships across all settings.
30. To ensure that adequate standards of safety and hygiene are maintained throughout Beyond, including the completion of appropriate risk assessments and recording and reporting of hazards and accidents.
31. To ensure that all staff work within the policies and guidance and procedures of the schools’ policies
32. Undertake Performance Management of Beyond staff identifying any training needs
Staff:
33. Be an active part of the staff recruitment process.
34. Monitor staff sickness/absence and organise cover where needed
35. Ensure all Beyond staff have adequate qualifications i.e. First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene as required
36. To work in partnership with the School to provide a performance appraisal system for staff and organise staff training to meet identified training needs
37. Take responsibility for personal professional development, including participation in own annual appraisal, any necessary training and attending.
