Kenect Recruitment is seeking a dedicated, qualified Service Engineer to join our client’s team in Livingston EH54 area.
Serving the gas, water, power, fibre, and civil engineering sectors.
Client provides everything from PE pipe systems and electrofusion fittings to valves, hydrants, metering solutions, and specialist hire equipment.
This is full time role, Temp to Perm for the right candidate.
Role Purpose:
To be responsible for repairing and servicing both customers and company’s equipment, to quality standards in accordance with Company procedures at optimum cost, whilst providing exceptional levels of customer service.
Role Accountabilities:
1. Servicing and calibrating equipment for our won hire fleet and customer owned equipment, including, where relevant carrying out services at customer premises
2. Competently carrying out technical demonstrations on the company’s full range of hire products
3. Supplying regional support on the specialist range of equipment that is operated from the central support facility at the HQ in Chesterfield
4. Providing telephone technical support both internally and externally
5. Delivering first class customer back up including attending breakdowns, providing onsite technical support and training, carrying out site audits and providing feedback to customers and supervisors
6. Establishing good relationships with customers and suppliers, both internal and external to assist the company in achieving its business goals and objectives
7. Suggesting improvements to equipment, depot policies, systems and working practices as part of a culture of continuous improvement
8. Ability to be flexible especially in terms of travel to support specialist equipment across the South of England
9. Reporting directly to Workshop Supervisor
Required Practical and Technical Knowledge:
Essential
10. A proven mechanical engineering/mechanics background
11. Electronics, hydraulics and component fault finding background/experience
12. Flexible disposition
13. Aptitude to learn quickly
14. Ability to work unsupervised
15. Must have own transport
Desirable
16. FLT Licence
17. Working knowledge of servicing petrol and diesel generators
18. Knowledge of equipment in the fleet hire
19. Willingness to travel
20. Positive “can do” attitude, with the desire to learn and develop
