Job Description
East Sussex County Council’s AMHP hub is fundamental in supporting people who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis. We work closely with Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust to provide safe practice to undertake Mental Health Act assessments. The day service is a small AMHP hub that works Monday – Friday to provide all areas of practice under the Mental Health Act. Within the service we have a Practice Manager, 5 AMHPs and 3 Resource Officers who support the AMHPs. We have made several developments over the last 2 years and need someone with drive and experience to take the service to the next stage, implementing the new Mental Health Act and supporting our current redesign. The role requires strategic ability to support collaboration with all stakeholders, oversee continual improvements, and hire and build a high‑performing team.
Responsibilities
* Implement the new Mental Health Act within the hub
* Support redesign of services and continuous improvement initiatives
* Hire new staff and build a team to achieve high levels of service
* Provide leadership and mentoring to AMHPs and staff
* Collaborate closely with all AMHPs and stakeholders
Qualifications
* Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP)
* Experience supervising Adult Social Care professionals or potential to do so, e.g. development work in a health or social care setting
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Experience working collaboratively with colleagues, both internal and external
