British Airways Maintenance Cardiff is home to BA's world class engineering team, and we would like to welcome applications for our latest Maintenance Team Leader vacancy within our Production department.
The role: Maintenance Team Leader
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a hugely skilled and experienced team carrying out routine maintenance, servicing, repairs and component changes along with large cabin/IFE modification programmes on the British Airways wide body Boeing fleet of aircraft (777-200/300, 787-8/9/10). To lead and supervise maintenance teams, the role requires you to maintain a safe working environment by role modelling and managing quality, health and safety and housekeeping standards. Maintaining oversight of individual and team activities ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and company standards. You will collaboratively work with colleagues, Shift Managers and support departments to achieve targets for the department. Organise and agree teamwork schedules and allocated tasks to deliver areas to agreed target and deliver departmental productivity and cost targets by driving improvement to work tasks, processes and work environment.
Working in the impressive and purpose-built Aircraft Maintenance facility located on Cardiff International Airport, you'll be an integral part of a team, leading a team of 25+ colleagues. Providing Individual coaching, performance management and development eg one to ones, works to improve schedules and aircraft downtimes, providing technical leadership of team's maintenance tasks and sign off work on completion within the full scope of individual approval. You will be provided with opportunities to develop your existing skills and knowledge whilst gaining invaluable new ones, setting you up for a bright future within BA Engineering Wales.
What you'll do:
* Team compliance with environmental, quality, health and safety and housekeeping standards
* Maintenance oversight of individual and team activities ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and company standards
* Collaborates with colleagues, Shift manager and support department to achieve the targets for the department
* Organise and agree team work schedule and allocate tasks to deliver areas to agreed targets
* People management of the team IAW policies e.g. disciplinary
* Individual coaching, performance management and development e.g. one to ones
* Works to improve schedules and aircraft downtimes Provide technical leadership of teams maintenance tasks.
* Sign off work on completion within the full scope of individual approval
* Effective communications within the organisation
* Deliver departmental productivity and cost targets by driving improvement to work tasks, processes and work environment.
Please note this role will need your commitment to work shifts (4x4) and may need you to work in confined spaces as required.
What you'll bring to British Airways:

Your experience:
We will also need you to have the following qualifications/experience:
* EASA Pt66 B licence
* 3 years aircraft heavy maintenance experience
* Maintains Base Maintenance authorisations on all types required
* Experience in leading teams in an aircraft maintenance environment
