How you'll make a difference: As an Access Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for the Children, Adults and Health Department. Dealing with all initial enquiries and requests, you will play a key part in ensuring a variety of people are provided with straightforward advice and guidance, such as signposting or routing to relevant services.
What you will be doing:
1. Provide support to families and individuals daily to access services, ensuring that clear information and guidance are provided or where appropriate the issue is referred.
2. Maintain and update information systems and databases to ensure details are recorded and updated accurately.
3. Resolve routine queries and problems daily and recommend alternative courses of action if necessary.
4. Support the work of the team by sharing knowledge and experience to maximise the service provided.
5. Relay any concerns accurately and promptly to the relevant professional within the team following set procedures. Handle enquiries in a sensitive and professional way, as contacts may be confidential or distressing.
6. Qualifications: Hold an NVQ 2 or 3 GCSE's grades C or above or an equivalent qualification in health and social care.
7. Experience: Considerable experience of giving and receiving accurate information, with knowledge of processes and procedures related to children's services, ideally gained in a related environment.
8. Skills: Initiative and judgement to resolve day-to-day problems independently.
