Children's Support Worker - Residential Home (Stevenage)

Specialising in Learning Disabilities & Challenging Behaviours
About the Role
You will be supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs, including challenging behaviours such as biting, kicking, or slapping. Support is provided on a 4:1 and 3:1 basis, ensuring both safety and high-quality care.
This is a night shift position (8pm - 8am), working 36 hours per week on a rota basis, including alternate weekends.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Providing emotional, social, and physical support to children and young people during the night
* Managing challenging behaviours calmly and confidently, ensuring safety at all times
* Following personalised care plans and routines
* Encouraging independence and positive behaviour through consistent support
* Working collaboratively as part of a team to maintain a safe and nurturing environment
* Recording and reporting incidents, observations, and progress accurately
* Supporting with bedtime routines, night-time care needs, and morning transitions
