About the Role Frank Bird (Poultry) Ltd is seeking an experienced, compliance-focused Transport Manager to oversee and maintain full compliance with our Operator Licence undertakings and all relevant road transport legislation. This is a key role within the business, reporting directly to senior management and acting as the nominated Transport Manager on our Operator Licence. Key Responsibilities Exercising continuous and effective control of transport operations in line with Operator Licence requirements Ensuring full compliance with: Drivers hours and tachograph regulations Vehicle maintenance and safety inspection regimes Operator Licence undertakings and Traffic Commissioner expectations Managing and reviewing: Defect reporting procedures Preventive maintenance schedules MOT preparation and compliance records Overseeing driver compliance, including licence checks, CPC, inductions, and disciplinary processes where required Liaising with: DVSA and Traffic Commissioners Office Maintenance providers and external auditors Conducting regular internal audits and implementing corrective actions Maintaining accurate and auditable records at all times Advising senior management on compliance risks and improvements About You CPC-qualified Transport Manager (National or International) essential Demonstrable experience acting as a nominated Transport Manager Strong working knowledge of: Operator Licence compliance DVSA enforcement processes Traffic Commissioner guidance Highly organised, detail-oriented, and compliance-driven Confident in challenging non-compliant practices and implementing improvements Excellent communication and record-keeping skills Desirable Experience managing HGV operations Familiarity with transport compliance software systems What We Offer A responsible and influential compliance-led role Supportive senior management committed to compliant operations Competitive remuneration package Opportunity to shape and strengthen transport compliance standards Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Free parking On-site parking Work Location: In person
