About Stanmore Residential – Life Skills Service
Stanmore House Residential acts as both a boarding element to Stanmore House School and a residential and respite service for the children of Scotland. The young people we support are aged between 5 & 20 with a variety of complex disabilities. We support them to live independently in our bright, fully adapted, residential & school campus based in the outskirts of Lanark.
Our amazing life skills service, supports young people up to age of 26, in a mock-home set up, to learn life skills such as cooking, domestic tasks and money management to prepare them for independent living.
About the Role
We’re looking for a caring and motivated Support Worker to join our Life Skills team. You’ll support young people with disabilities to live fulfilling lives by delivering person-centred support and engaging activities in a safe, positive environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support individuals with daily activities and personal goals
2. Facilitate meaningful opportunities and community activities
3. Provide personal care and administer medication where required
4. Maintain accurate records and work as part of a supportive team
About You
5. Compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic
6. Good communication and teamwork skills
7. Willing to work towards an SVQ qualification (training provided)
8. Experience in care is desirable but not essential
