Job description:
Project Manager/Quantity Surveyor in Horticulture- St Austell
We are recruiting for one of our long standing clients for a Project Manager/QS within the horticultural field to work in the St Austell area Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week, 8am – 5pm.
As the Manager you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and be client facing. You will also be responsible for the delivery of the contract to a high standard on one site ensuring compliance with relevant standards and ensuring health and safety is paramount. You will also be required to develop and manage a team as well as being responsible for maintaining, developing, and sustaining the profitability of the project.
Responsibilities:
1. Establish and maintain appropriate systems for monitoring all aspects of the work including internal and client requirements.
2. Manage and develop directly reporting staff.
3. Ensure that directly reporting staff are working together as a team to provide a quality service.
4. Manage and control all commercial aspects of the work.
5. Monitor measure and report on all aspects of work internal and client requirements within agreed formats and timescales.
6. Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles.
7. Maintain and share with colleagues as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant information that may aid or improve the service delivery of the company.
8. Ensure that all Health & Safety requirements are being carried out.
9. Liaise with clients and attend all client meetings.
10. Deal with customer complaints and liaise with the customer and client to a successful conclusion.
Requirements / Qualifications:
11. Ideally the candidate will be SMSTS qualified with a CSCS card and experience in the highways/construction/ horticulture site industry.
12. Other qualifications/experience will be considered.
13. Our client is looking for someone who has landscape/horticulture knowledge particularly on new commercial sites.
14. This is an exciting role for someone that is wanting to push on in their career while having support from a national company.
15. A UK driver’s licence is essential as is a CSCS card.
16. Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards, whilst maintaining effective control, some programming and monitoring of work are all pivotal to the role.
17. Working to clear procedures you will ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
18. In addition, you will need good time management and administrative skills, and show leadership coupled with excellent communication skills. The role is Monday to Friday and is although more than likely starting on a temp to perm it is a permanent role.
This role is weekly paid at an initial £ per hour based on a 40 hour week, up to £40K depending upon experience
