Position Description

As Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the direction of kitchen staff members to ensure daily goals and tasks are being met. You will perform all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and foster a quality work environment.


Responsibilities

1. Work cooperatively with the Kitchen Manager to ensure budget expenses are within limits; identify and communicate ways to improve and streamline operations.
2. Keep General Manager/Kitchen Manager informed of problems and propose solutions.
3. Maintain a clean and safe facility.
4. Monitor and oversee food temperatures to reduce the risk of foodborne illness.
5. Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
6. Ensure clear communication with vendors.
7. Complete walk-throughs and temperature checks in the kitchen.
8. Assist in ordering and receiving supplies, and direct staff for stocking.
9. Perform all functions related to kitchen operations.


Qualifications

* Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service, taught through in-house training.
* Must be able to communicate clearly.


Physical Requirements & Work Conditions

* High mobility and flexibility.
* Ability to work irregular hours under stress during peak times.
* Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Must fit through a 30” wide opening.
* Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling.
* Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors.
* Continual standing and walking.
