Summary
The Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Director for Medicines Optimisation will oversee all aspects of Pharmacy services within the Trust. Reporting directly to the Executive Medical Director, the Chief Pharmacist holds accountability for Medicines Optimisation and serves as the Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer (CDAO) for the Trust. Responsibilities include providing strategic, clinical, and professional leadership to ensure the safe, effective, and cost-effective use of medicines and pharmacy services.
Main Duties of the Job
Leadership and Management: Lead and manage all aspects of Pharmacy services across the Trust.
Accountability: Directly report to the Executive Medical Director and serve as the Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer (CDAO).
Strategic Oversight: Provide strategic, clinical, and professional leadership on the use of medicines and pharmacy services, collaborating with healthcare partners to meet patient needs.
Superintendent Pharmacist: Fulfill the role of ‘Superintendent Pharmacist’ as per GPhC guidelines for any registered site.
Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with legally regulated activities registered with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
