We have an opportunity for a Senior Materials R&D Engineer (Brazing) to join us at Honeywell, in Yeovil, where you will have detailed knowledge of brazing processes to work within our multi-disciplinary R&D team on technology developments, from initial concepts up to prototypes demonstrated in flight.
This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home, with around 10% travel within UK, US, and potentially Europe.
Honeywell products and services are used on virtually every commercial, defense, and space aircraft. We build aircraft engines, cockpit and cabin electronics, wireless connectivity systems, and mechanical components. Our solutions help create more fuel-efficient aircraft, more on-time flights, and safer skies.
Responsibilities
* Lead development of brazed components for aircraft and related systems.
* Provide subject matter expertise in materials processes for UK & US teams.
* Support manufacturing, NDT, materials inspection & testing for brazed components.
* Liaise with external partners and subcontractors.
Qualifications
* Experience with brazing processes and extending knowledge to new facilities/processes.
* Experience in preparing test documentation and supporting technology progression through TRLs.
* Experience maturing components in TRL3-6.
* Hands-on approach to engineering tasks and working with subcontractors.
* Ability to meet security standards due to military applications.
