We are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Darwen that provides tailored support for pupils aged 10–19 with complex SEMH needs and associated learning difficulties. About the Role: You’ll play a vital role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom, helping them to access learning, manage behaviours, and build confidence. You’ll work alongside a committed team of education and therapy professionals, using a nurturing and therapeutic approach to make a genuine difference in young people’s lives. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour is highly desirable. A background in youth work, mentoring, or children’s support services would be beneficial. Patience, empathy, resilience, and a calm approach to behaviour management. A team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude. Requirements: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one. Right to work in the UK. Availability to start in September.
