Responsibilities
* As a Biomedical Engineering Manager, spearhead the technical operations of a forward-thinking clinical engineering service. Oversee the life cycle management of various medical devices, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards. Act as a direct point of contact for clinical staff and equipment users, offering specialized technical insight and guidance on asset management across diverse medical equipment throughout their life spans. Operate autonomously in both technical and administrative capacity and supervise a team of four engineers, including performance appraisals, workshop schedules, and On-Call rotations.
* Support the Head of Clinical Engineering and serve as a deputy when required, contributing to strategic decision-making and ensuring smooth departmental operations.
* Develop and implement equipment lifecycle management strategies, including technology standardization, PAQ implementation, replacement planning and disposal.
* Manage preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the safe and reliable operation of medical equipment and maintain comprehensive records of maintenance, inspections, and compliance activities in line with QMS.
* Lead and direct line management of a team of clinical engineers, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
* Use data analytics to track equipment performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions for equipment management and maintenance.
* Collaborate with clinical departments, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration.
* Identify areas for improvement in equipment management processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and safety.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in clinical engineering or a similar role within the healthcare industry
* Strong understanding of medical equipment lifecycle management, regulatory compliance, and industry standards
* Experience with engineering databases and ERP databases
* Knowledge of safe operation and techniques used within a maintenance environment
* Familiarity with healthcare technology, including medical imaging systems, diagnostic equipment, and therapeutic devices
