Job Title: Data Specialist – Master and Reference Data Management
Location: Wokingham (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)
Contract Type: 6-Month Contract (with potential extension)
Day Rate: £470 (Inside IR35)
About the Role
We are seeking a Data Specialist with strong expertise in master and reference data management to support governance and provenance work within a large-scale transformation programme. The role requires excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee master and reference data governance, ensuring accountability, transparency, and stewardship across the organisation.
* Develop, implement, and enforce data governance policies and standards to drive consistency across business units.
* Manage change processes to evaluate, approve, and implement updates to master and reference data with minimal disruption.
* Facilitate engagement sessions and clearly communicate master/reference data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Provide training, guidance, and support on master and reference data to business teams.
About You
You will bring a proven background in data governance and reference/master data management, along with strong communication and analytical skills.
Essential experience includes:
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in master and reference data management or governance.
* Good understanding of data governance frameworks and practices.
* Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills across business and technical teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Desirable skills:
* Relevant certifications (e.g., DAMA CDMP).
* Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
* Experience with data management tools and technologies.
* Knowledge of data lineage practices
