* To provide dedicated, one-to-one care and support to a child with specific needs, promoting their well-being, independence, and safety in a nurturing and structured environment. This role involves working closely with family members and professionals to implement care plans and ensure the child's emotional, physical, and developmental needs are met., Deliver consistent, person-centred care tailored to the individual child's needs.
* Support with personal care tasks sensitively and in line with the child's preferences and abilities.
* Assist the child with daily routines, including dressing, meals, hygiene, and bedtime.
* Encourage and facilitate play, learning, and social interaction appropriate to the child's age and development.
* Accompany the child to school, appointments, or community activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
* Follow care plans and behaviour support strategies as directed by health or education professionals.
* Monitor and record the child's progress, behaviour, and well-being.
* Communicate effectively with family members, professionals, and other support staff.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.
* Respond calmly and appropriately to any emotional or behavioural challenges.
* Safeguard the child's welfare at all times, following safeguarding policies and procedures.
Experience working with children, particularly in a care, support, education, or health setting.
* Understanding of child development and the importance of consistent routines.
* Awareness of safeguarding and child protection principles.
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
* Ability to work independently and adapt to the child's changing needs.
* Strong communication and record-keeping skills., Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
* Paediatric First Aid training.
* Experience supporting children with additional needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, physical disabilities).
* Medication administration training.
