Our client, a growing manufacturing organisation in West Wales, is currently recruiting for a ‘hands on’ and experienced QBE or senior Part Qualified Operations Accountant. A challenging and varied hands on number two role.
The role
Reporting to the Finance Director and responsible for some of the site’s Finance function, as well as wearing an operations hat. Ensuring effective financial controls are identified, implemented and maintained and reliable financial information is produced for decision making.
Key duties include:
1. Maintain accurate accounting records, and ensure that regular accounting functions of thepany are carried out.
2. Overseeing the preparation of weekly and monthly management accounts of thepany and related divisions within agreed timescales.
3. Managing order process system including shipping.
4. Full stock management for thepany including obsolete stock.
5. Ensuringpliance with the group standards, group policies and procedures.
6. Contributing to strategic planning by developing and maintaining an awareness of the overall financial position.
7. Preparing financial forecasts for the trading activities and monitoring actual performance.
8. Reporting to the Senior Management Team on performance against forecast, including variance analysis and work with the managers in rmending actions to improve performance and the development of KPIs.
9. Regularly reviewing expenditures, introducing cost controls where appropriate.
10. Development of product costings.
11. Liaising with auditors in the preparation of the annual audit of the namedpanies.
12. Liaising withernment agencies in respect of funding and grant aid assistance.
13. Coordinatingpletion of all documents in relation to various forms of import and export schemes, ensuring conformance with relevanternment departments, Inland Revenue and other statutory requirements.
The Person:
14. Strong IT skills and proficiency with MS Office Applications, in particular Excel.
15. Xero skills desirable but training will be given.
16. A talented QBE, senior part qualified or Qualified Accountant.
17. Excellent interpersonal, organisational, time management and attention to detail skills.
18. Export experience desirable (not essential though and grant funded training is available).
19. The ability to work within a team as well as independently. Previous SME experience desirable.
