*Job Summary*We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements, ensuring vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. *Responsibilities*
* Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
* Perform thorough inspections of vehicle components including brakes, lights, tyres, suspension, and exhaust systems.
* Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised testing equipment accurately and efficiently.
* Identify any defects or issues that may require repairs or further investigation.
* Maintain detailed records of all inspections and tests carried out, ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
* Assist with minor repairs or adjustments when necessary, adhering to safety protocols.
* Ensure the testing bay remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
* Stay informed about updates to MOT regulations and industry best practices through ongoing professional development.
*Qualifications*
* Proven mechanical knowledge with experience working on a wide range of vehicle systems.
* Competent in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
* Previous experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role is preferred but not essential; relevant training can be provided.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
* Good communication skills to explain findings clearly to customers when required.
