This is a full‑time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in South Mimms, Hertfordshire, and can only be worked in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the function to provide high quality safe and secure facilities and site services required by the Agency.
* Lead on ensuring the Agency scientific facilities are fit for the future and enable the Agency ambitions to be a world‑leading regulator and centre of scientific excellence.
* Accountable for the Agency South Mimms Site Capital Programme to ensure a robust budget and delivery project management process is followed in line with the Agency Project Governance Framework.
* Lead, develop and deliver the Agency Estates, Location and Sustainability Strategy.
* Lead Agency Projects as requested and ensure the Project Manager and Team deliver the required outputs as agreed.
* Lead on the Agency Greening Government Commitments (GGC) by chairing the relevant working groups to co‑coordinate and deliver the required activities and actions to allow the Agency to meet the required sustainability ambitions and ensure appropriate reporting is in place to the CFO and Risk and Audit Management Committee.
* Business Continuity – Lead on site based Business Continuity for the Agency, responsible for managing risks and ensuring business continuity plans for the Agency are effective, tested, up to date and in line with cross‑Agency priorities and business need for non‑digital infrastructure.
* Management of the function to ensure budgets are met, Agency governance is complied with and key performance indicators and objectives are delivered as agreed.

Requirements
Relevant qualifications, experience and competencies required for the role:
Experience Criteria
* Understanding of how infrastructure of a specialist site needs to fulfil complex formal requirements; experience in government, hospital or pharmaceutical infrastructure with steam, air‑handling and effluent systems.
* Proven leadership ability at senior level to ensure laboratory estates and services are available to deliver a safe working environment.
* Experience delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders and significant uncertainty over medium to long periods.
Technical Criteria
* Relevant scientific, technical or engineering qualification and background.
* Relevant Leadership and Project Management qualification or background.
Other Criteria
* UK or eligible mainland nationality (see list of nationalities).
* Successful completion of a criminal record check and baseline personnel security standard checks.
* Vaccination as required for laboratory or overseas work.
