About the Role
We’re looking for a Youth Support Worker to join a welcoming secondary school, supporting students aged 11–18. You’ll play a vital role in helping students feel safe, understood, and ready to engage in learning — working closely with teaching and pastoral teams to create a positive and inclusive school environment.
You’ll be working alongside the school’s Specialist Resource Base (SRB), supporting students with additional learning needs through a mix of mainstream access and specialist provision. Support is personalised and rooted in person-centred practice, focusing on identifying barriers and helping students thrive both academically and emotionally.
The SRB supports learners with a wide range of needs, including:
* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* Severe learning difficulties
* Speech, language and communication needs
* Physical or medical needs

Is This You?

* Have experience in youth work, care, mentoring, coaching, or similar roles
* Are confident supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) or behaviour needs
* Can remain calm, patient, and approachable in challenging situations
* Understand the emotional and social needs of young people
* Genuinely care about helping students succeed — academically and personally

✅ Requirements
Teaching Personnel can support you in obtaining:
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
* Two professional references covering the last 24 months
* You must be 18 years or older
