The Role

To undertake care duties for patients in support of and delegated by the Registered Nurse, within a hospital or community setting. The post-holder will be required to work without direct supervision on a regular basis, referring to the registered nurse as required. NHS Lanarkshire invites you to join Team Lanarkshire and put patients at the heart of everything we do, delivering healthcare services across rural and urban communities with a passionate multidisciplinary approach.


Requirements

* SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised.
* To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Driving licence requirement: a full UK/EU/EEA licence if necessary.


Additional Relevant Experience (optional)

* Experience of working with people with long term mental health or learning disability problems.
* Experience of working in an inpatient setting.
* Knowledge of issues that can affect people suffering from long term mental health issues and learning disabilities.


Contract Type

Permanent, Part‑Time: 29.6 hours per week. Salary will be pro‑rata.


Location and Working Pattern

Older Adult Mental Health within Udston Hospital. Working pattern will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
