The goal is to undertake an ambitious electric vehicle charging installation program, deploying high volume and quality EV installations across the nation. The Senior HSEQ Advisor will assist in advising both the operational and support service teams on all HSEQ matters. The Senior HSEQ Advisor will support implementation of Zest HSEQ Management System, including policies, procedures and processes business wide and provide support as a centralised resource for HSEQ performance monitoring.
Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the HSEQ Management System to ensure compliance with ISO certifications (9001, 14001, and 45001), comprising the Management System (SharePoint), Reporting Systems, Legal Registers, Environmental Compliance, Audit platforms etc
Support safe, high-quality project delivery and continuous improvement by collaborating with Operational teams and other departments to identify and implement enhancements.
Contribute to the Project Change Board to support effective organisational management of change.
Monitor & measure HSEQ objectives, targets & performance proactively via audits & site visits. Manage the Legal register including regular review and documentation of compliance updates for example ensure compliance and awareness of CDM 2015 regulations within Zest through the implementation of the Management System CDM Processes.
Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, identifying and mitigating risks to protect people and property.
Coordinate the annual Management Review (as a HSEQ team), ensuring all inputs and outputs are aligned with the requirements of ISO 9001 and utilise the outputs to develop future objectives and KPIs.
Embed proactive quality implementation and incident prevention behaviours across all teams through hazard observations, NCR awareness and lessons learned.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders including employees, clients & contractors, providing support & guidance as required.
Ensure that sub-contractors activities meet relevant HSEQ compliance obligations by ensuring suitable monitoring and supervision are established.
Manage the scheduling, production and delivery of HSEQ awareness training e.g. Drop-in sessions, safety briefs & toolbox talks to the operational teams and the wider business.
Ad hoc duties and support as appropriate.

Successful implementation of the HSEQ Management System & processes using internal audits & site visits in line with ISO Standards
ISO Certifications, Safe Contractor etc.
Maintain high quality outputs as well as a safe and healthy work environment and a positive HSEQ culture.
Collection of attendance data of safety briefings and drop-in sessions and communication with departments to ensure continuous improvement.
External – Developing collaborative relationships with contractors & clients during all phases of projects. Working knowledge of UK HSE regulations
Schedule, develop & deliver HSEQ awareness training
Determining solutions for risk reduction and compliance.
Quality Management awareness including developing a culture of continuous improvement and management of change
Competent at managing stakeholder, customer and sub-contractor relationships and expectations.
Clear and concise reporting (verbally and in writing)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Lists, Power Automate etc. Delivery focused and committed to achievement of project/company goals.
Adaptability to deal with complex and rapidly changing projects, priorities and situations.
Level 3 NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate or equivalent
~2 years health & safety, environmental and quality experience in a similar industry
~ Auditor training
Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice
IEMA / NEBOSH Environmental Awareness / Equivalent
Incident Investigation Training
CSCS Card
Experience leading ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 audits Internal or Third Party Auditor training
Other H&S training (SSSTS, SMSTS, NRSWA, etc).
