We are currently looking to employ a Band 7 Neonatal Nurse with experience in Neonatal Care to join our amazing team here at the Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre in Burnley. Applicants will be required to have an up to date portfolio of NMC/ revalidation with evidence of continuing professional development and leadership skills.

Candidates will be experienced Neonatal Nurses with Qualified in specialty certificate. They will be able to demonstrate confidence within their field, and strong leadership/ education and development within their practice

Working for our organisation
The single East Lancashire Neonatal unit is based in the Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre, which is a level 3 offering the highest level of therapies for premature and sick babies. The Neonatal Unit at LWNC has 6 intensive care cots, 8 high dependency cots and 20 special care cots with a total cot capacity of 34 cots.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Caring for infants and families on the intensive care unit, providing intensive care using a range of therapies including Nitric oxide and cooling. Support and stabilisation of infants from the Central delivery suite to the Neonatal unit. The band 7 will coordinate the general day to day operations of the Neonatal unit, work closely with the Matron and Neonatal Consultant team and form part of the Band 7 team. The post holder should demonstrate strong leadership and support for the junior Nursing staff on the unit.

* RM or RGN or RSCN
* Mentorship qualification & up-to-date sign-off mentor passport
* Degree in nursing or midwifery studies or currently working towards a degree Qualified in Speciality (405)
* Recent experience of leading and managing teams Experience in ensuring safe staffing and skill mix at all times through the Trust rostering process Experience of the escalation process and managing flow across a busy neonatal service Knowledge and understanding of the quality agenda and audit Recent experience of managing and motivating teams at periods of peak capacity and working under pressure Experience of the risk management strategy, and participation in root cause analysis and risk assessments Experience of safeguarding adults and children Experience of developing services as part of a multidisciplinary team Experience of managing complaints Managing sickness and absence Experience of delivering training and involvement in live skills drills
