Overview

The role will involve working in a high pressured environment taking receipt of large volumes of laboratory specimens. Checking and examining electronic and paper requests and transfer requests onto the Laboratory Information System in preparation for sample analysis.


Responsibilities

* You will be rostered into the laboratory department as part of a team of Band 2 staff, carrying out technical, clerical and administrative duties on both Wirral University Teaching Hospital sites - Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals.


Requirements

It is essential that you have the ability to work flexibly between the hours of 07:00 and 21:00, inclusive of Saturday and Sunday and Bank Holiday, on rotation.

DBS Information

Trust policy requires the cost of submitting and processing a DBS application to be met by the successful applicant(s). DBS costs are recovered via salary deduction following starting in post. If the post requires a DBS, costs for successful applications would be met by the individual. Amounts vary by level: Standard Disclosure £21.50 + £6.50 administration, Enhanced Disclosure £49.50 + £6.50 administration (these additional sums may change with inflation) and will be deducted in monthly instalments for up to 3 months.

Apprenticeship Eligibility
