OCU Integrum (Part of the wider OCU Group)currently have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice ElectricalDesigner to join our team in Stockport.
As anApprentice Electrical Designer you will embark on a structuredtraining program to develop the skills and knowledge necessary fora career in electrical design engineering. Under the guidance ofexperienced professionals you will learn to create electricaldesigns drawings and specifications for various projects includingbuildings infrastructure and electrical systems. This role offershandson experience mentorship and opportunities for growth in thefield of electrical engineering and design. Academically you willbe supported to achieve the Level 4 Electrical Power NetworksApprenticeship standard.
Duties andResponsibilities:
ElectricalDesign: Participate in the design and development ofelectrical systems and components for various projects. This mayinclude creating schematics layouts specifications andreports.
ProjectSupport: Collaborate with Design Engineers tosupport ongoing projects providing assistance in areas such assurveying primary and secondary design system integration testingand commissioning. Identify and support opportunities for costsavings efficiency and businessimprovement.
Documentation:Prepare and maintain project documentation including drawingstechnical specifications and reports. Ensure that documentationmeets the organisational and clients procedures standards andrequirements.
Collaboration:Work closely with all teams Project Managers and key stakeholdersto ensure effective communication and coordination throughout theproject lifecycle.
ContinuousLearning: Understand industry trends emergingtechnologies and best practices in electrical and civilengineering. Actively seek opportunities for professionaldevelopment.
Compliance:Provide support to assure all electrical designs comply withrelevant codes standards and safetyregulations.
Programme:Support the Design Engineers to update the project programmes andbudgets on a regularbasis.
Technology:Use ComputerAided Design (CAD) software to deliver Electrical andCivilsdesigns.
Safety:Ensure all work is delivered safety and follows safety by designprinciples.
Engagement:Support the full lifecycle from engagement with new and existingclients and the supply chain to winning of new works to designdelivery and handover at practicalcompletion.
Skillsand Experiencerequired:
* Educated toLevel 3 in a relevant engineeringdiscipline.
* Have the soft skills and experienceto integrate with existing team members.
* Havean understanding of renewable energy and/or wider transmission& distribution sectors.
* Have anunderstanding of railway electrificationsystems.
* Good ITskills
* Excellent analytical and problemsolvingskills and detail orientated.
* Eagerness tolearn and adapt to new technologies andchallenges.
* Outstanding selfrelianceresourcefulness initiative and enthusiasm flexible approach andexcellent timemanagement.
