Location: Norfolk / Suffolk – Suitable candidates will need to live within a daily commuting distance of IP16 Reporting to : Stowen Site Supervisor Role Overview Stowen is seeking experienced Scaffolders and Advanced Scaffolders to support a growing portfolio of scaffolding projects across Norfolk and Suffolk. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe erection, alteration, inspection and dismantling of a wide range of scaffolding systems on live construction and industrial sites. This role requires a strong commitment to health and safety, quality workmanship, and compliance with current industry standards, including TG20 and SG4. Scaffolders will be expected to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team, following method statements, risk assessments and scaffold designs where applicable. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, as projects may vary in size, complexity and environment. Effective communication with supervisors, site management and other trades is essential to ensure work is delivered safely, on time and to specification. Advanced Scaffolders may also be required to take a lead role on site, support less experienced operatives, and assist with inspections and planning activities. Key Responsibilities Erect, modify, inspect and dismantle scaffolding systems in accordance with site procedure Work safely and efficiently on live construction and industrial sites, maintaining high safety standards at all times Carry out pre-use checks and routine inspections, reporting defects or hazards immediately Read and interpret scaffold design drawings and method statements Ensure all scaffolding is compliant with relevant legislation and site requirements Liaise effectively with supervisors, engineers and other trades on site Maintain a tidy and safe working area, ensuring tools and materials are stored correctly Support junior scaffolders and apprentices where required Adhere to project schedules while maintaining quality and safety expectation Health, Safety & Environmental Adhere to all site safety procedures and permit-to-work systems. Take part in toolbox talks and risk assessments. Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area. Promptly report unsafe conditions, near-misses, or incidents. Required Qualifications & Competencies Valid CISRS Card (CISRS Gold for Advanced) CITB H&S operatives card (we can look to book this if not already held) You will be required to pass a vetting process by the client which will include a thorough criminal record check & require HMRC records. Desirable CSCS card. Previous nuclear site clearance. Personal Attributes Strong commitment to safety and working in high-risk environments. Flexible and adaptable to changing tasks and schedules.
