Lecturer in Carpentry & Multi-Trades (Further Education)
Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: £130 – £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Part-time / Long-term (Potential for ongoing work)
GSL Education Kent are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist further education college for a skilled and dedicated Lecturer in Carpentry & Multi-Trades. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced trades professional with a passion for teaching, looking to support both apprentices and adult learners in a structured, hands-on environment.
The role offers a consistent weekly timetable and the chance to work with small, focused groups of learners, enabling high-quality teaching and meaningful learner progress.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver Level 2 Carpentry Apprenticeship training to a small group (1 learner) every Friday
* Teach Multi-Trade Level 2 Certificate to adult learners on Mondays and Tuesdays at the adult learning centre
* Plan and deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons
* Assess learners’ progress in line with qualification standards and awarding body requirements
* Provide constructive feedback and ongoing learner support
* Ensure delivery aligns with NOCN standards and apprenticeship frameworks
Requirements:
* Relevant teaching qualification (minimum PTLLS or equivalent)
* Assessor Award (essential)
* Strong hands-on experience in carpentry and multi-trades
* Experience delivering Level 2 apprenticeships and/or adult education
* Familiarity with NOCN and apprenticeship delivery
* Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities
* Strong communication and organisational skills
