We are currently recruiting on behalf of a high-achieving secondary school in the Redbridge area of London, seeking an ambitious and inspirational Deputy Head of English to join their successful and well-established department.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a talented English specialist with a passion for driving standards, developing staff, and delivering outstanding outcomes for students.
The Role
* Support the Head of English in providing strong leadership and strategic direction for the department
* Drive high standards of teaching and learning, ensuring excellent outcomes for all pupils
* Lead on key areas such as curriculum development, assessment, and intervention strategies
* Use data effectively to monitor progress, identify underachievement, and implement targeted support plans
* Mentor, support, and challenge colleagues to maintain consistently high-quality teaching
* Contribute to whole-school improvement and play an active role in shaping policy and practice
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Degree in English or a related subject
* Proven track record of successful teaching in a secondary school setting
* Demonstrates strong leadership potential or existing middle leadership experience
* Excellent subject knowledge with the ability to inspire both students and staff
* Skilled in using data to raise attainment and drive improvement
* Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
* Right to work in the UK
