Job Description:
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be part of a caring early years team, creating a warm and stimulating environment for babies, toddlers, and pre-school children. You will plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate activities that support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, while ensuring the health, safety, and emotional well-being of each child in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the learning and development of children.
* Plan and lead engaging activities in line with the EYFS curriculum.
* Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
* Observe and record children’s progress, identifying next steps for learning.
* Provide a safe, clean, and stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors.
* Follow safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all children in your care.
* Support children with personal care needs in a respectful and sensitive manner.
* Work as part of a team to maintain a positive and inclusive nursery setting.
Requirements of Nursery Practitioner:
* A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (e.g. CACHE, NCFE, or equivalent) is essential.
* Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, or early years setting is desirable.
* Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
* Understanding of safeguarding, child development, and positive behaviour management.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
* A kind, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
