Role Overview
At Eni, we are looking for a Principal Engineer, Marine Systems within the EniProgetti UK Branch in Basingstoke. You will be responsible for supporting Eni's activities worldwide on different projects and will provide technical leadership within the naval and marine operation discipline. Being the discipline leader for design, follow‑on and monitoring of new and ongoing projects with floating LNG and FPSO facilities.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
* Studying and defining the best technical solutions for Marine Systems in line with project objectives.
* Preparation of technical specifications and functional requirements for Marine Systems in FPSO and FLNG during the FEED and execution phases.
* Working on or monitoring follow‑on and review of FEED and EPC FLNG/FPSO projects and marine system equipment P&IDs/PFDs.
* Providing assistance as Marine System focal point to the company during technical clarification meetings and project HAZID/HAZOP.
* Reviewing project documentation provided by contractors and shipyards.
* Liaising with project management and coordinating with other disciplines to provide technical contribution in compliance with agreed project timelines, resources and costs.
* Ensuring a high standard of safety is maintained and environmental and quality assurance processes are followed.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience working on and monitoring FEED and EPC LNG/FLNG/FPSO projects.
* Seagoing experience as second/chief engineer.
* Experience working with oil tankers/LNG carriers.
* Knowledge of Classification Society Rules, SOLAS, MARPOL applicable to FPSO and FLNG.
* Experience as a Classification Society surveyor or tanker/LNG ship vetting engineer is a major advantage.
* Active participation in project HAZID/HAZOP required.
* OPITO certified for offshore travel preferable.
* Specific skills in design of marine systems: slop and drain, bilge and ballast, inert gas, production distribution and venting, diesel and gas power generation and auxiliary systems, freshwater production, compressed air, oil and gas loading, storage, gas liquefaction and offtake systems, LNG tank design and maintenance.
* Skill and experience in preparation and review of P&IDs/PFDs relevant to marine systems.
* Willingness to learn from other specialists.
* Ability to multi‑task.
Qualifications
Degree in Naval Architecture with a focus on Marine Systems.
Working Arrangements
