Are you a compassionate and detail‑oriented nurse looking to specialise in a dynamic clinical environment? As a Radiology Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures. This position combines advanced nursing care with technical expertise, ensuring patients feel safe, informed, and comfortable before, during, and after their radiology treatments.
Working closely with radiologists, radiographers, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will prepare patients, monitor their wellbeing, administer medications or contrast agents, and provide clear explanations to ease anxieties.
Responsibilities
* Administer IV medication, including conscious sedation.
* Scrub in for certain procedures and act as a second operator during vascular and neuro‑radiology procedures.
* Support student nurses and paramedic students.
* Participate in the on‑call rota.
* Work safely with radiation, wearing lead garments and adhering to radiation protection standards.
* Monitor physiological observations and support patients during procedures.
* Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout the interventional radiology journey.
* Deliver recovery care and lead discharge within interventional radiology protocols.
