You will be joining a high-profile defence sector contract where no two days are the same, and where your ability to manage change effectively will have a direct impact on performance, relationships, and results.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will sit at the centre of all client-driven change activity across the contract.
You will take ownership of the full change lifecycle, working closely with operational teams and the client to ensure every change is understood, priced accurately, agreed efficiently, and delivered successfully.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety and challenge. You will be working in a constantly evolving environment where your input will directly influence decision-making, commercial outcomes, and the success of the contract.
What You Will Be Doing:
Leading Change Activity
* Act as the main commercial point of contact for all client change requests
* Manage the full lifecycle of change from initial identification through to implementation
* Ensure all changes are commercially sound, clearly documented, and aligned with contract requirements
* Bring structure and control to a busy and change-heavy environment
Navigating a Fast-Moving Contract
* Review and manage Early Warnings and Buyer’s Instructions
* Work with operational and technical teams to understand impacts, risks, and opportunities
* Support the business in responding quickly and effectively to changing requirements
Maintaining Strong Commercial Governance
* Keep accurate change records, registers, and audit trails
* Ensure all activity is compliant with contract terms and internal processes
* Provide clear and timely reporting on change performance
Understanding the Financial Impact of Change
* Produce cost models and commercial assessments
* Identify risks and opportunities linked to change activity
* Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting, including P and L insight
Building Relationships and Influencing Outcomes
* Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and the client
* Support negotiations to achieve fair and balanced outcomes
* Act as a trusted advisor on all commercial aspects of change
Developing Your Career

About You
* A degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Facilities Management, or a related field
* Strong experience in a commercial or contract environment
* Experience of working with contracts, change control, or cost management
* A good understanding of commercial risk and financial principles
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Analytical, with a structured and solutions-focused mindset
* Confident communicating with a range of stakeholders
* Proactive, adaptable, and keen to take on more responsibility
* Motivated by the opportunity to make an impact through managing change
