Our client is a mid-tier, dynamic fast growing A rated reinsurance organisation trusted by almost 2000 clients operating across over 100 countries. They cover Natural Disaster, Life & Health, Property, Financial and compliance as well as industry specific lines of business. The business is currently going through a period of high growth, demand, and investment and as a result is now looking to hire a Senior Underwriter Property Treaty for their London office to drive the business further
The Role
We are seeking a skilled and analytical Senior Property Treaty Underwriter to join our clients underwriting team to help grow the existing Global Property portfolio of the company. They are looking for an individual that will bring a level of expertise and contribute to the development of portfolio of Property Excess of Loss Risk, Cat and Pro Rata business. The role involves evaluating risks, developing pricing strategies, maintaining broker and client relationships, and contributing to the company's profitability and growth. Additional responsibilities will include negotiating, assessing and underwriting renewal and new business in a timely and efficient manner in line with the business plan and personal authority limits. Using pricing tools un-supervised and price the business in accordance with pricing and underwriting strategy and support the Head of LoB or Group CUO with broker interaction, modelling, strategic thinking, emerging risk analysis and business planning. Furthermore, you will develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients with a view to the retention of renewal business and production of new business.
The Candidate
We are looking for a proven Senior Property Treaty Underwriter with experienced gained ideally from within a top tier reinsurance organisation. In addition to a strong background in Property Treaty underwriting, to be successful in the role you will need deep knowledge of Lloyd’s or company market Property Treaty experience (broking or underwriting), with significant experience in a client/broker facing role. It is expected you have strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with experience using Excel and catastrophe models (RMS, AIR, etc.). Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), Organised, methodical, quick thinker with a willingness and desire to learn and develop your skills and develop others. As an individual you need to be highly entrepreneurial, very much a natural self-starter, a pro-active team player who is genuinely passionate about building high performance teams and experienced in working in a multi-disciplined multi-cultural environment.
