Qualifications Required
Applicants must bring evidence of the following qualifications for the interview:
* GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English
* A Full Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (NVQ must be from a regulated awarding body)
Applicants who hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications must also provide an ECCTIS comparability statement and the original certificates. If required qualifications are not presented, the interview will not proceed.
Role Overview
Senior Clinical Support Workers will provide fundamental elements of patient care as directed by the qualified nursing/midwifery team to ensure patients receive the highest standard of dignified and respectful care, in accordance with their care plans.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be based at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Because care is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you will be required to work shifts, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Competencies and Skills
The applicant must be competent and proficient in the following skills:
* Venepuncture
* Taking clinical observations
* Use of vital pac
* Glucose Monitoring
* Pregnancy Testing
* Urine Analysis (Strip)
* Taking Fecal Samples
* Carry out 12 lead ECG
* Observing patients for signs of agitation or distress (Clinical holding/Restraint)
* Wound Observation
* Simple Wound Dressing
* Removal of Peripheral Cannula
* Take Swabs (e.g., MRSA)
* Support and Assist New Staff – Buddy System/Care Certificate Supervisor
