Fluor and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is looking for an Analytical Chemist to be based at Rocksavage, Runcorn, UK.
Main Purpose
To provide Medical Products manufacturing, packing operations, and customers with a Quality Control analysis service to ensure process control, product quality, and adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements.
Main Responsibilities
* Accurately analyze, validate, and record results for samples from medical product operations to ensure production processes and final product quality are within agreed limits.
* Organize delivery of QC test services to support 24/7 production plans and timelines.
* Review and validate the analysis performed by shift analysts in line with operational requirements.
* Act as SME for training, mentoring, and supporting QC analysts.
* Ensure QC laboratories are cGMP compliant, audit-ready, and all QC records are maintained for data integrity according to ALCOA principles.
* Advise analysts on investigations of Out of Specification and atypical results, taking over complex investigations when required.
* Investigate deviations using root cause analysis tools and implement appropriate CAPA.
* Ensure all sample, analysis, and testing work complies with cGMP and SHE standards.
* Drive continuous improvement activities.
* Manage and deliver stability trials.
* Manage laboratory consumables and stock levels to support production and packing operations.
* Deputize for the Quality Control Team Leader to ensure there is always a point of contact for reference and escalation.
Qualifications
* Minimum: HNC/HND in Chemistry.
* Desirable: Degree in Chemistry or related field.
Knowledge/Experience Required
* Knowledge and experience of working to cGMP standards.
* Understanding of QC in the pharmaceutical industry.
* Experience working in a QC laboratory, preferably one operating to cGMP standards.
