We are seeking a self-motivated, adaptable, and hardworking Junior Buyer to join the dynamic team at BEAUTY BAY. In this role, you will collaborate with the Private Label team and manage a selection of third-party brands to develop strong Joint Business Plans (JBPs) that boost sales and align with overall business KPIs.
Reporting to the Senior Buyer, your responsibilities will include negotiating key commercial terms such as price, volume, delivery, and trading conditions. You will work effectively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring excellent communication and collaboration across the Buying team and other departments.
Key responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with buying, product development, marketing, trading, and logistics teams to ensure timely product launches according to agreed plans.
* Prepare product analysis for trading decisions and assist in assortment planning with merchandising.
* Lead strategic and trading meetings independently for designated brands.
* Negotiate terms, costs, and commercial agreements with suppliers and brands.
* Conduct range reviews and develop strong JBPs to maximize commercial opportunities.
* Monitor and evaluate supplier and brand performance against set targets and KPIs.
* Ensure products meet relevant compliance, ethical standards, and requirements.
* Coordinate with NPD, brands, and merchandising teams to identify future commercial opportunities.
* Work with the new product development team to position new launches effectively in the market, balancing product features and pricing.
* Regularly review own-label products against competitor benchmarks.
About you
* Strong commercial and buying background with confident negotiation skills and a drive to increase sales and profitability.
* Minimum of one year of experience as a buyer.
* Excellent negotiation skills with a keen eye for trends, commercial opportunities, and emerging brands.
* Experience in a fast-paced online retail environment, preferably in beauty or cosmetics sourcing.
* Well-organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
* Ability to thrive under pressure.
* Strong analytical and financial skills.
* Confident in building professional relationships and negotiating effectively.
