SUPPORT WORKER (ADVANCED LEVEL) – COMPLEX CARE
Location: CH60, Wirral
Hours: Days 08:00- 20:00 waking nights 20:00 – 08:00 Monday – Friday initially, increasing to include weekends once the full support package is established.
Pay: £16.66ph days and walking nights, sleeps £12.71ph plus 12.07% holiday pay
Essential: Driver with a clean UK licence (manual or automatic)
About the Role
Thriving are recruiting experienced Support Workers (Advanced Level) to join a specialist complex care package supporting a young man with complex health needs living at home in the Wirral.
You will work as part of a small, dedicated team, delivering calm, consistent, person‑centred care. This role is ideal for someone with strong clinical confidence, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to high‑quality, relationship‑based support.
Support Workers will attend shifts alongside a Team Leader, ensuring safe, structured and well‑coordinated care throughout the day.
About the Service User
You will be supporting a young man who requires assistance with:
Personal care and hygiene
Medications
Seizure management
Nutrition support
Moving and handling, including hoists and slingsHe communicates non‑verbally and benefits from:

Key Responsibilities
Deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care
Support daily routines, personal care, and meaningful activities
Follow support plans, risk assessments and clinical guidance
Work collaboratively with the Team Leader, family and professionals
Maintain accurate, clear documentation
Promote dignity, independence and emotional wellbeing
Contribute to a positive, calm and supportive team culture
Experience & Skills Required (Advanced Level)
We are seeking Support Workers who meet Advanced Level criteria:
Extensive experience in care or support in a complex care environment (typically 4+ years)
Holds an NVQ Level 3 minimum
Experienced in high-dependency support needs (e.g. peg feeding, seizure management)
Confident supporting complex health needs
Experience with neurological conditions and epilepsy
Skilled and confident in moving and handling, including hoists and slings
Strong spoken and written communication skills
